Adopt-A-Block Adopt-A-Block encourages investment and involvement in the Isla Vista community by providing simple ways for volunteers to make a significant impact on the Isla Vista environment through clean-ups, outreach and education. Surfrider - Isla Vista Chapter The Isla Vista Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation is a unique chapter because it consists almost entirely of college-aged members. The chapter creates both a social network as well as a volunteer and activism program in which young people can take personal responsibility for the environment they inhabit and make a difference in their local community. Santa Barbara Ski and Snowboard ClubSBSSC is a club composed of students and riders from the Santa Barbara area. They have over 500 members from UCSB and SBCC. Most of their events, such as socials and pre trip meetings, happen in Isla Vista. They rage in the fall, wait for snow, then rage in the snow, whilst shredding. Safety fourth.

The Isla Vista Community Services District is your local government here in Isla Vista. The CSD provides governance, support, resources, etc. to the residents of Isla Vista. We design and implement a variety of projects and sustainable practices that help our campus to be as zero waste as possible.
