Adopt-A-Block encourages investment and involvement in the Isla Vista community by providing simple ways for volunteers to make a significant impact on the Isla Vista environment through clean-ups, outreach and education.
Surfrider - Isla Vista Chapter
The Isla Vista Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation is a unique chapter because it consists almost entirely of college-aged members. The chapter creates both a social network as well as a volunteer and activism program in which young people can take personal responsibility for the environment they inhabit and make a difference in their local community.
SBSSC is a club composed of students and riders from the Santa Barbara area. They have over 500 members from UCSB and SBCC. Most of their events, such as socials and pre trip meetings, happen in Isla Vista. They rage in the fall, wait for snow, then rage in the snow, whilst shredding. Safety fourth.
Isla Vista Community Services District
The Isla Vista Community Services District is your local government here in Isla Vista. The CSD provides governance, support, resources, etc. to the residents of Isla Vista. The UCSB Zero Waste Committee is a student group dedicated to reaching the UC system-wide goal of Zero Waste by the year 2020. We design and implement a variety of projects and sustainable practices that help our campus to be as zero waste as possible.

Environmental Affairs Board
Environmental Affairs Board (EAB) is a branch of UCSB’s Associated Students and is the largest environmental group on campus. EAB strives to protect, preserve and enhance the environment, principally at UCSB and its surrounding communities.
